Setting the Standard For Over 30 Years

The dependable performance of our Model D Indoor Rower has made it the best-selling indoor rower in the world. Long recognised by competitive rowers as the standard for indoor training, the Model D delivers an effective cardiovascular workout that will increase your fitness level and tone your physique. At a fraction of the cost of other premium fitness equipment or a yearly gym membership, you can have the luxury of working out in your home whenever you choose…and get a great workout to boot.

    Features

    Performance Monitor

The sophisticated monitor is what sets Concept2 Indoor Rowers apart from other rowing machines. It provides accurate, comparable data each time.

    Flywheel and Damper

The indoor rower responds to your effort on every stroke, so you are in full control of your exertion and resistance at all times. The spiral damper allows you to easily change the resistance, so you can change the feel of the stroke to suit your preference.

    Designed to Suit You

We use adjustable footrests on our indoor rowers for quick and easy sizing. The footrests accommodate a wide range of shoe sizes. Our comfortable, ergonomic handle features a 10 degree bend that allows you to row with a natural arm and hand position.

    Storage and Mobility

The Model D features a quick-release (no tools required!) framelock mechanism, so you can easily separate the machine into two pieces for storage. Caster wheels on the front foot allow you to roll the fully-assembled machine into position.

The Most Advanced Performance Monitor Yet

    Features

    • Backlit Display
    • Bluetooth Smart
    • USB Compatible
    Wireless Heart Rate Monitoring

The PM5 supports ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart for wireless heart rate monitoring with compatible chest belts.

    Data and Displays

The PM5 provides distance, speed, pace, calories, and watts for each workout you do, and you can choose between five display options: all data, force curve, bar chart, large print and having a paceboat/pacer.

    Smart Phone Friendly

If you have a compatible iPhone or Android Phone, you can use the free Concept2 app ErgData to connect wirelessly to your Indoor Rower. This provides additional feedback and automatically stores all your workouts direct on your device.

    The Choice Of Champions

We value practical design: our Model D is efficiently engineered and will last a lifetime. The Model D you buy is the same machine used by Olympic- and elite-level athletes to train for their sport—it’ll take the abuse of heavy training day after day. If you’re looking for a solid piece of exercise equipment at a great value, the Model D is the perfect choice.

The Model D is available in two colours: light grey or black.

    Easy To Assemble

The Model D Indoor Rower requires the installation of the front legs using a total of eight screws. We include the necessary tool and clear, illustrated instructions. Allow about 20–30 minutes for the job.

I was trying to decide between this and the ski erg and just for the space I have I went for this. I'm really glad I did. First off this is a very well built machine, all the parts have been meticulously machined and they all fit together like a glove. There really isn't much building to do either, just attach the legs and the front and back parts clip together. I did it myself in less than 10 minutes. If you maintain this properly it will out live you! In use it is amazing it's actually a joy to use. The seat rollers don't catch and the rower chain runs super smooth. The PM5 monitor really is the star of the show. I've not used all the functions yet but what I have are seamless. I connected my polar 10 without problem and the metrics are second to none. You can also look back through your history at past times etc.. This really is an outstanding bit of kit. It's one of the best things I own.

We have been looking at getting a rowing machine to get a good all round level of fitness with low impact but highly beneficial exercise of the major muscle groups. After months and months of research into various makes of rower I purchased the Concept2 Model D rower in black and I am so glad we did. It is fantastically smart in the black colour. We investigated many types of rower from magnetic, to air resistence at various price points and found nothing that came close to the Concept2. Whilst not cheap, the rower features absolutely rock solid build quality, features and ease of use and hence why it's the default choice in most commercial gyms. Once we decided that Concept2 was the best model we did consider purchasing a second hand model from various auction sites but the rower holds its value incredibly well and for not much more money you can get a new rower with full warranty safe in the knowledge that it hasn't been abused. This isn't much more than a good gym membership either and had the convienence of being at home. Many rowers are more expensive too. We have had this rower for about three weeks now and we are already starting to feel leaner and fitter and me and my wife are now competing against each other. It is so easy when we don't have much time to have a row each night. The rower itself is pretty heavy but comes in two sections that simply click together. 8 bolts are supplied along helpfully with the tool to tighten them to attach the legs and this literally took 5 mins and we were ready to row. The rower is easily able to disconnect and split into two sections for storage upright in a corner/against a wall which is really handy in a tight space. When assembled, the rower is quite long allowing for anyone upto a good height/weight to use this. I am 6ft 4 and have no issues. I believe Concept2 recommend a space if 9ft by 4ft but more details on their website which was helpful in placement. The PM5 computer came with latest firmware and D batt

I bought this to help get a bit of light exercise as i have a lot of health problems and need the exercise I have been using these rowers for decades in different gyms and decided to take the plunge and buy my own I use it 3 times a day for a few minuets it helps loosen up my joints and get the circulation moving and may increase the time in a while A very good product and easy to use I would recommend

We had considered getting a rowing machine for some time as we wanted an at home exercise option which was high intensity but low impact. We did a lot of research before deciding to go with a Concept 2, and we’re so glad we did. The machine is light enough to move and store on your own but totally solid and doesn’t budge an inch when being used. All the parts are high quality and the erg screen has all the metrics you could ever want (but easy to simplify if you want a cleaner screen). Connects seamlessly to the Erg app for workouts and logbook. I feel this will last us forever. Not a cheap buy but a long term investment.

This rowing machine is almost absurdly good. It arrives in a giant box, and the whole thing is absolutely massive so you really need a large area for it - it’s not wide, but it’s incredibly long. It arrives in 2 pieces and it comes with instructions so you can put it together but, literally, you just screw the legs on then clip the two parts together and you’re done. I was worried it would be flimsy but, somehow, clipping it together forms an almost solid steel bar. If you don’t have room to leave it “open” you can just unclip it to store it in two parts against the wall and it’s well made enough that the clipping and unclipping probably wouldn’t damage it but, to be honest, if you do have room to leave it as is I would really recommend it because over time wear and tear at the join *could* affect its durability. The seat is surprisingly comfortable - I remember using the rowing machine at the gym in my twenties and my bum being angry at me for days. Presumably over the years they’ve made them more comfortable, but you can order a specific seat cushion for it if your coccyx has words with you. It’s good and quiet to use with just a fan that whooshes as you row, and the LCD screen tracks your speed, how far you’ve rowed and how long you’ve been rowing. The LCD screen has myriad buttons on it, too, where you can program specific workouts including Racing mode and Games but we only use the Just Row option and then heave ho until our legs get a bit wibbly. To be honest it, all a bit high-tech: you can connect it to various apps and monitors using Bluetooth and something called ANT+ (?) but we’re luddites who just want to go for a row in our front room. It’s a bit like having an iPhone or an expensive camera - you know it does loads of fancy gubbins but you just need it for the basics and having a dabble with the gubbins is really, really fun but ultimately you always go back to the fundamentals. And the thing is, the fundamentals of this thing are *amazing*. Th

Have to say, I'm really enjoying this rower. I feel it's targeting pretty much all the main muscle groups. I – honestly – like to sit down, close my eyes and settle into a semi-meditative state. I set the resistance to fairly high, row with long, slow strokes and focus my mind on form, travelling round my body in my mind and focusing on eg feet, then ankles, lower legs, knees, quads and hams, glutes, abs, back muscles, chest muscles, arm muscles. Then groups of muscles working simultaneously. I focus on keeping my body even and not straining in the neck. I focus on keeping my knees nicely aligned, and pulling with equal force on right and left. I focus on my breath. I zone into the whir of the machine (sounds a bit like it's breathing/sleeping or snoring itself!) and the soft blast of air you get from the front and I find the time passes. Sometimes I do 5 mins every hour (for a work break), or 10 mins every couple of hours, or 20 mins or something. The repetitive motion lends itself naturally to settling into a relaxed mental state. Meditation in motion. Marvellous. My running has improved too. And cycling. In fact they all feed into each other. I feel this is conditioning the body and calming the mind if you choose to use it in this way. I expect to use it a lot, especially during the winter. Also like to blast it out sometimes, race or listen to an audiobook, but the meditative thing came as a bit of a revelation; didn't expect to settle into such a deep meditative state so readily on a rowing machine! So, in summary, with this one machine (the only gym machine I own), I'm getting meditation and a deepening of my brain waves, I'm getting conditioned externally and internally, and I'm exercising my heart. I step off feeling toned and zen. Magic! 5 people found this helpful

Finally my very own Concept 2. Assembly was super easy, all you need to do is attach the “legs” and clip the middle bit together, and the version with tall legs looks like a work of art, plus the tall legs make it so easy to get on/off. Value for money if you add up the annual cost of a gym membership where, pre/lockdowns, I mostly only used the Concept 2 rowing machine anyway, I never much enjoyed the gym experience. My wonky back (mild scoliosis) will thank me now, combined with the weekly reformer Pilates classes and long walks, I think I’m sorted. Oh and this rower can be stored next to the sofa in the living room, in two parts and taking apart and putting it back together again literally takes seconds. If I had been aware sooner how easy it is to store this machine, I would have purchased it ages ago. Plus it’s an ergometer, it measures the work you put into your rowing. Also there is an app which is super easy to use, it links to your phone or tablet and your workouts are automatically logged into the app and into the Concept 2 logbook where you can keep track of progress made, participate in races or compare your results against other rowers if you’re competitive. A lovely rower, I’m very pleased and impressed. Built to last a lifetime, I’m over the moon. Already had a couple of rowing sessions in front of Netflix in our living room, no need to go to the gym! A fabulous machine, nothing else comes close. We went to see a cheaper version and it was twice the weight of Concept 2, looked ugly and I tried rowing on it - didn’t even come close the smoothness and pure joy of rowing on a Concept 2 machine. I’m so glad I held out for this one and had the previous experience of rowing on it in various gyms. 100% satisfied.
